"Unicorn" is an over used term in the horse world but there are not enough good things to say about this special guy. He is an amateur's dream! He can truly do anything with most anyone on his back. This horse is super trained and loves to work and is looking for a permanent life partner to go on new adventures with.
He has an uphill build and stands 16h with a lot of presence. He is handsome and looks very proud under saddle!
He has exceptionally smooth (but fancy) gaits and is steady in the bridle. He is nicely responsive to his rider's aids and is light in the hand. He is a super fun horse that is easy on the body and the eyes! No bucking or bolting ever with this guy. He is very well behaved and dependable under saddle.
He loves showing off and is fantastic in a show atmosphere. He is fancy on the flat and will win you some ribbons at dressage shows. He loves to jump as well and you can take a jump lesson one day and go out cross country the next. He loves to go out trail riding with friends or on his own.
He happily loads in the trailer, eager to go out to his next adventure whether it be a show or trail ride with friends.
He was professionally bred in CO and has had one owner since he was 7 mos. old. His owner is a professional and he has been extensively trained in all areas including dressage, obstacle work, show jumping, cross country and trail riding. He is fine to ride bareback if that's what you want to do!
He has been used a lot for both dressage, show jump, poles and cross country lessons when students' own horses are unavailable. Every person who rides him ends the lesson saying "that was so much fun!".
He showed in a USDF show at Training Level as a 4 yr. old and won his classes. He could easily go 2nd level right now and most likely 3rd level in the future. He has an amazing adjustable canter that is easy for him to collect.
He has competed in 4 Beginner Novice Horse Trials, winning the last two.
He could easily convert over to hunters. His sire was a National Champion working hunter.
This horse sadly must be sold due to financial reasons and will go to an approved home only. He is very special and bonds with his person. We will not sell him to a home where he will be "passed around".
He has a great work ethic and likes dressage and wouldn't mind that full time but would also love to mix it up with some relaxing trail riding days and occasional jumping if the rider desires. He lives in a paddock and is on daily turnout with a group of geldings. He is also fine in a stall and overnights well at shows. He is the perfect size for a "ladies horse". He prefers someone with a lighter hand and leg. He is responsive and does not need strong aids. He tries hard for his rider!
Calvin has never had any joint injections. He is a healthy horse and is an easy keeper.
If you are serious about purchasing this horse and would like to come meet him, email or call Rochelle at [email protected] or (303)229-1081.
